A Makeshift Audio Recording Booth

We were doing a field production last Friday night and we needed to record some audio narration from our talent.  Unfortunately, we were shooting near an outdoor concert, so things were way too loud.  I didn't want to inconvenience everyone by having them make a trip to the church to record audio, so we made a makeshift audio booth in the back of my Honda Odyssey, using a field mic going in to our camera.  The van has pretty good road noise prevention and it worked pretty well for the audio.

Just an idea for all of you Videographers on a budget out there.

Just Checking In

I haven't posted in a long time.  There's not much new going on here in the Communications Ministry.  We've just been busy churning out media item after media item.  We've been especially heavy on After Effects animation videos lately.  We've been pretty light on video productions requiring camera and field work.  Isn't interesting how things go through cycles?

About the only new thing on our radar is video streaming.  Our leadership team has decided that they want to start having streaming videos available for various projects.  At the moment, there are no plans to stream services, but rather training videos, service support videos, etc.  Recently we've only used the streaming technology mostly for Creative Team previewing of service videos.  However, there should be lots of videos posted soon for viewing.  In the mean time, here's one you can check out.  For our streaming provider, we've established a relationship with LightCast Media, and I must say to this point they've not disappointed!
