So we are entering into a difficult series. Difficult because sexuality/sex is such a hot topic in our culture. Not only is it popular cultural topic, but many of us have had bad experiences as we think about the way we talked about or experienced our sexuality in the past. I am guessing that many of us have already or are currently experiencing the pain and shame that comes with exploring our sexuality in ways that have left us wounded.
With this series I hope that we can hold onto the sacredness of sex, while practically wrestling with what our sexuality could look like in our lives. This will be fun, awkward and hopefully live giving as we look at God's design and invitation. God is the creator of sex. It was his idea in the first place. Is that a strange thought?
Here is a book by Rob Bell that is worth reading, especially if you've been wounded through the way you've lived out your sexuality.
Read and reflect on John 13 to prepare for the next gathering, especially where it mentions Jesus as teacher.
Here is the main scripture for this week, wrestle with it because we will discuss some questions from it which will be posted later in the week at the gathering.
Take some time for silent reflection. This may be a video that we use this week in the gathering, and you will be able to participate more fully if you interact with it throughout the week. This video is around a minute long.
